Andrew Bowe: Your School

Hi there veryone my name is Andrew Bowe, but I liked being called Andy Bowe. The school website of this chool is awsome and makes me feel warm inside, learning what your cultural values are, mean a lot to me, I remember reciving an email from your principal one time, and I said a happy birthday to King Bhumibol Adulyadej King Rama 9 on his 79th or 80th birthday, and when ever I see pictures of your royal family I start blushing like crazy and even start having tears in my eyes, not because I am sad but because I dearly respect and love them and all of you like all of you are a member of my family, I am shure all of you would understand, what I mean. The family who started the school I think would be amazed at how global it has become with the Internet and I think what would make it better is if in your language section why don't you add Swahalli which is spoken in Uganda Kenya and Tanzania about 38% of that langauge comes from Arabic, I guess when I prononunce The Kings full name It sounds like Swahilli but I know its really not.

Gloria: Congratulations and continued good progr...

It was a great pleasure to visit all the places on your website and see how well your students have done. I really enjoyed reading the essays and looking at the lovely art work. I am a retired elementary teacher from New York, USA and I just returned from a trip to Thailand. Perhaps if I return someday I will be able to visit your school. Best Wishes to you and all your students.

aknj: Extra cllasses for kids

I recalled attending tutoring classes in the evening almost everyday after long hours at school. I also attended summer school every years for preparation for the next school years. It must have done me some good because I got to attend Triam Udom Suksa, the best high school in Thailand (back then, at least). I later came to the USA where I eventually got my Ph.D. and became a scientist. If it's not for those rigorous learning/training I had when I was young, I doubt if I would be where I am today.

Fascinating, very different from the school I taught at though.

Allan Ford : Your usual excellent standard Richard

I have noticed that the teenage school children on the MRT are more commonly overweight each time I wisit Thailand. Also last time I was there I saw my first skateboarder in a car park.

Both these observations made me feel sad.I wish the powers that be would wise up to these trends that will do no good for Thai culture.

Norb : Wonderful sotry

hanks for sharing a great story. My wife and I would go back to Thailand in a heartbeat if I wasn't in a wheelchair with an disease that started in Thailand in 2001. Our job in the US Peace Corps was to assist the Thai government with introducing student centered teaching. We were practice teaching 4th and 5th graders in a village school and know what that is like. To set up team teaching with a Thai teacher I actually needed an interpreter. She totally ignored everthing, just stood in the back and coached her students. :(
